Small Road Trip

My schedule at work changed to 4 - 10 hour shifts,
So I now have Tuesdays off with Chris.

This morning, Chris said he wanted to go for a drive.
It was a little too late to head out to the beach,
But we decided to take advantage of the gorgeous day and
head to Hood River.

Along the way, I saw the dam, and asked Chris what it was.
Almost immediately, we saw the sign for the exit.
Since we had no itinerary, we figured Why not?

I am so glad that we stopped.
Look at the gorgeous scenery!

We were able to walk down to the fish ladder too.

Chris also learned to appreciate his office at work =]
This is a small little thing that I think they called a "pit"
This is where men stood security during WWII.
The dam was the main power source for the Navy.
And this made it a huge target for enemies.

And this is one of the turbines from the power house inside the dam.
(It's much larger in person, the stand itself is taller than I am)

And then Chris took a picture of the gorgeous sunset on the way home.
