The nursery is done!

We finally finished the nursery! With only 2 weeks to go, I was starting to get a little worried. Jordyn's bag is packed, Amanda's is halfway packed, all Jordyn's clothes and bedding is washed, bottles and pacifiers are washed as well. Just have to remember to get the carseat properly loaded into the car, and then we are all set!

Cribs, Blankets, and Roses

We finally got our crib mattress tonight! Grandma Jo bought us this cute sheet a week ago, and I have been so excited to finally set it up! The crib has been set up for a couple weeks now.. but it didn't look right until now =] Jordyn already has quite the blanket collection going too. (Thanks to our Vegas baby shower and Christmas gifts!)

Daddy filled the holes in the wall, and hung her stuffed animal sling too =] I'll get a finished photo up later when the rest of the nursery is done.

On a totally separate topic.. Chris bought me these gorgeous roses last night. But roses never last long in this house. My wonderful black furball has a taste for them. He chews on them when we aren't in the room. I woke up this morning to find the evidence...

   The little brat...

OH! P.S. Chris just received his letter in the mail, announcing that his application has been accepted for the Troutdale Police Department Reserves. He has a test next month. Cross your fingers for us!! He also turned in his application to be a full time paid officer at Troutdale as well. =]

My Flowers

I love nature, I always have.  No I am not a hippie. I grew up playing in the small forest behind our house. Being around nature reminds me of those good times. When we moved to our new place, and I realized that I would have no yard, I instantly decided that I would have potted flowers. Lots and lots of them.
Today while I was watering them, I decided to take some pics =]

This next one isn't really a flower, it's a mint plant. Chris planted this one. He used to chew on mint leaves with his Dad, and he wanted his own plant for home. After it grew, we realized it was the wrong type of mint, and doesn't taste very good. But It's still a bit of green, so I kept it around =]

This last one is my newest one. My sister knew how much I loved having flowers on my decks. She arranged this pot herself and gave it to me for my birthday =] It's my favorite.

Suggestions??

Alrighty gals..
I need your decorating experience and advice..

My Mom got me this adorable wall decoration for my birthday.
I absolutely LOVE it!
It's handmade from old fence wood and window trim.
(My parents have a very talented neighbor)

My dilemma..
I have no idea what to put in the bucket!
I'm thinking flowers..
But what color??

Movie Night.. Nelson Style

Last night, we had an urge to go out for dinner and a movie..
But all the movies were playing at very inconvenient times.

So we came up with our own version of dinner and a movie.
We ran up to the grocery store, and grabbed all our favorite appetizers.

Complete with the necessary sauces of course..

..Potstickers..

..Crab Rangoon..

..And Toquitos..

I think we have definitely found a new tradition for ourselves!!

Thrift Store Find

Chris has turned into quite the bargain hunter.
He is always finding good stuff at the thrift store up the road from us.

This desk is his most recent find.
Only $85 (I found similar ones for $250 and up)
And it is in great shape too!

It has been such a huge upgrade for the craft room/office.
Our last desk didn't have any cabinets/drawers.

I didn't notice when I took the picture,
The laptop screen is covering my favorite part of the whole desk.
There are 4 little vertical shelves.
The PERFECT size for organizing all my cards/envelopes.

Now the next step.. is getting a computer that actually works lol.

Eagles

As most of you probably already know.. we are a very patriotic couple =]
Chris has been collecting eagle-themed items for years.
I decided to go with that idea for the main living area of our home.
Here are a few pictures of my favorites.

Our New Home

We are finally moved in!
The last box has been unpacked,
The last picture frame has been hung,
and it's finally time to enjoy it!!

The front of the house.
Yes it's a townhouse, so I lost my yard.
But at least it's not an apartment!!

The view out my kitchen window =]
I know it's going to stay this way because it's protected land.

Chris' favorite part of the house.
He is so incredibly excited to have a garage.
And I must admit, it's been great to not have to worry about his truck being stolen again.

My favorite part of the house.
I finally have a dishwasher!!! No more scrubbing!!

I even have a cute little spot for my mixer!
I bake a lot, so this part is really nice.

We are so incredibly happy at our new place. And the lack of water/garbage bills is super nice. We can finally afford Satellite TV!!! (Chris is really excited for that) The space is great. Chris finally has a garage to work on all his projects, and the second bedroom has already transformed into Amanda's scrapbook/sewing room.
More pictures will be posted soon!!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

I absolutely LOVE what Kim of Daisy Cottage has done with her stairway.
She randomly hung dozens of old mirrors up and down the stairway.

Since we are moving soon, and I will be having TWO stairways..
I'm thinking that I might just steal her adorable idea for one the stairways.
Especially for the lower stairs that lead down to the garage.
They are kind of dark and dismal.
They could use some mirrors to lighten them up =]

So now it is on to collecting!!
Maybe somebody will decide to help me out for my birthday ;-]
*hint hint*
*nudge nudge*

Amanda says I need to post, I am behind.

So Amanda tells me i need to post, because I have not in a long while. Well, whats new? We are moving. (Oh my goodness we are even leaving Sandy.) We are moving to Troutdale. Actully we are really excited. We are moving into a town house, with TWO Bedrooms, 2,1/2 bath and an oversized 1 car garage. This is a big up-size for us; but trust me, we can fill it. Otherwise, work is going great. I love not working Graveyard; now let's just see if I can get Sundays off sooner or later. Thats about all.

Chris.
