Chris is back into his RC cars again. The cold weather forces him inside and into the garage, which ultimately results in a lot of tinkering and building. We are still making and selling those tiny sleeping bags. Business is starting to pick up with those again, and Chris is super happy about it. We are making denim ones now, and thinking about making some camo-print ones too. They seem to be a big hit in the RC world. Chris is also making mini tow-straps and such. We are also drawing up plans for some different soft-tops for the Jeep RC cars. Chris is really excited about the business and he shows no signs of stopping =]
I have also been really busy with my own mini "business" of sorts. Those wallets I posted about? I'm still making them. I've sold 12 so far.. and I have another 10 to go at least =] I'm booked out into next year. These wallets are selling like hot cakes! I finally realized why too.. there are no cute wallets in the stores. Everything is pretty basic and solid colors, there are never any cute prints. Girls are jumping on these wallets since they get to pick their own fabrics. I've even had a bunch of husbands buying them for their wives.
It's starting to wear on me a little bit, I'm getting bored making the same old thing over and over haha. But there certainly are benefits for it. One of the sleeping bag orders (7 of them!) is funding a Christmas present for Chris =] The rest of the wallets are funding my sewing hobby and my addiction to fabric haha. I have planned a little vacation from my wallet making, as soon as I finish the Christmas orders. I can't wait! haha I have a purse that I have been dying to make.. I'm also thinking about customizing the pattern a little bit and making a diaper bag. I have a couple friends that are expecting very soon, and they have asked about diaper bags.
Chris is still struggling with changes at work. All the political mumbo-jumbo is so frustrating. They cut their health-care and they cut their differential pay. That really flustered a few people. It's tough for Chris because he really loves his job, he loves working with the kids and the whole environment, it's just the administrative things that ruin it. He has been fighting to get Sundays off for two years now, and we seem to be actually making progress!! I guess all we can do at this point is cross our fingers and keep trying.
I can't believe it is already Christmas time! We've already got our Christmas decorations up.. it feels so early though. I'm hoping to get into it a little bit more. Maybe I need to play some Christmas music? Hmmmm
