I don't understand...

 

There are some people that I wish I could slap across the face. 

Everyone knows someone like that right? 

The person you love to death, but does the stupidest things? 

 

We have this family friend. (Mainly my parents friend) Overall, he is a great guy. Very loyal to his friends, good basic ethics, etc. Well he has.. issues. Mainly anger management stuff, which is only exacerbated by his chronic pain and insomnia. 

 

He and his wife are separated. They still love each other, that is obvious, but there are soooo many things wedged between them. How the kids are raised, business decisions, financial purchases, etc. He will never be happy unless things are done his way, and she will never change the way that she does things. He over-reacts and throws huge fits, screaming and cussing the whole way. She cries over everything. It's really a horrendous equation. 

 

When he gets mad, she comes crying to us (mainly my parents) and drags us into the middle of it. Every time this happens, all I can think is "Why are you still with him??" Yes they are separated, but they are always communicating with each other. Obviously things will never be fixed, they both need counseling (separately, not couples counseling, that would never work). They need to just go their separate ways. They are toxic to each other. 

 

Of course, they will never listen. So we will have to just keep watching this soap opera and shake our heads.

I will never understand.
