Well, my best friend has changed a few times during my life. Obviously, my first thought was that Chris is my best friend. But you guys already know everything about him. So I'm going to talk about the other best friends. The girls.
When we first moved to our house in Oregon in 1992, I met my neighbor, Emily. We soon became best friends, literally inseparable. During time off from school, we spent almost every single night at each others' houses. Sadly, during high school, we drifted apart. I posted about it once before, here.
Near the end of high school, and just after school for a couple years, my best friend shared my name. Her name is Amanda Marie. She moved to Colorado after school, but we still talked almost daily. Eventually, we also drifted apart. I got married, she became a single mom for twins. Our lives were different, it happens. We still try to keep in touch, but it's hard.

Currently though, my best friend is Kari Lu. This girl is a hoot! I've known her since we were very little kids. Her Mom was my Girl Scout leader. Later on, her Mom was the leader for our 4H group. We went to school together from first grade all the way up through high school. We have drifted back and forth. Some times joined at the hip, other times going months without talking to each other. We never had fights or anything, we just bounced back and forth. My favorite part about my friendship with Kari, is that no matter how long we have been apart, when we get back together, it is like nothing has changed. We were there for each other through family problems, middle school crushes, failed high school romances, and so much more. I was right there next to her during the funeral following her Mom's sudden and unexpected death from a car accident our Junior year in high school. I was there at her wedding, but she wasn't at mine. And I regret it each and every day! (We were in one of our "away" fazes, and during all the chaos from wedding planning, I forgot her invite). Now, we are pregnant together! She is 2 weeks ahead of me =]

Through it all, I've learned that friends come and go, but it's the ones who keep coming back that really matter =]
